Dornoch has a history
of welcoming inward investors. In the 1970s an Industrial Estate
was established in Station Square. This is now almost fully occupied
and a new site has been identified for a Business Park by The Highland Council
adjacent to the recently completed Historylinks |
The last vacant site
in Station Square has been converted to a distributed call centre,
and a tennant has been secured by Caithness & Sutherland
Enterprise. Training courses are currently being held to prepare
prospective employees for this opportunity. |
Northern College -
Dornoch Centre opened in October 2000, providing a range of full
and part -time courses to the communities of south-east Sutherland
& north-east Ross-shire. As well as conventional further
education subjects, the college is running business courses and
in the longer term will develop specialist golf management courses. |
A much needed investment
to provide Dornoch with a four star Golfing Hotel was completed
for the 2000 season, at the Royal Golf Hotel - overlooking the
first tee at Royal Dornoch.
The upgrading of
the facilities to the tune of £1.5m was assisted by Caithness
& Sutherland Enterprise. |
There is currently
a site available for sale with planning permission for 43 houses,
Country Club, Driving Range and 9 hole Golf Course. Click here for
