DORNOCH CATHEDRAL GUILD WEEK 8th - 15th September 2019

National Guild Week is an opportunity for local people and communities to find out more about the Church of Scotland Guild. The Guild and its members continue to address issues of significance locally, nationally and internationally. They currently support the children of trafficked women in India, teenage mothers in Zambia, young farmers in Malawi, lonely and isolated people here in Scotland and so much more.

The local Dornoch Cathedral Guild is fortunate to have a thriving membership in excess of 40 active members; an interesting and varied programme of talks, events and outings is available at their regular fortnightly meetings and new members are always made very welcome. During this special week, the Cathedral Guild will be preparing to begin their autumn/winter season and will be holding a Quiz Evening, open to all the community, on Friday, 13th September at 7.30 pm at the West Church Hall, Dornoch. Any proceeds will go towards this year’s Guild Projects and the hosting committee look forward to a large attendance from members, visitors and local groups. If you have a team in place that is fine but teams will also be made up on the evening, so please be assured of an inclusive and friendly welcome. Simple refreshments will be served and if you wish to BYOB, please feel free to do so. For more information about the Quiz or our regular meetings, please contact: Sue Boyce on 01862 810415.

The Guild’s current National Convener, Marian Macintyre has commented: “Guild Week is an opportunity for the Guild to see and be seen within Guild branches, out amongst congregations and communities, demonstrating that “Guilds without Walls” can be instruments of change, challenge and blessing, just where they are.
